Home is Not Wylie E.

Registration would be long for me
for the last time
I would put my hand on my hip and smile begrudgingly
for the last time
I would be “Proud to be a Falcon”
In High School
for the last time

I will take on
a new identity
different school colors
cheering for a different team

I’ll get new mannerisms
a new routine
I’ll get new classes
new professors

I’ll have a new place
to call home
Home is not Wylie E
Anymore.
