I am from a court and a field,

from Wilson to Lifetime, and Nike to Adidas.
Trying each sport with passion,

from golfing on Tuesday and Thursday
with family by my side
as our grandparents’ lead.

I am from a tan house
with blue features
and shorter houses surrounding it.

I am from listening to my older brother,
telling me to use bug spray
in my eyes, so I could see better…

While I was in kindergarten
but imagining to be a pirate
(using the patch that I had to wear,)
losing sight in one eye because of the it.

From nights with my neighbors,
to relaxing with my family
either watching a movie or our favorite TV show,
then to an abrupt morning.

I am from 7:10 am on December 09, 2006,
when my eyes filled with tears,
to see my nine year old dog,
die to nose cancer before my eyes…

From saying my last goodbyes,
forced to leave his side
as they took me away.
