Thanks for the Memories
Thanks for the memories,
Ones that I had when I was a kid.
Thanks for the memories,
Like the ones where I ran and hid.
Thanks for the memories,
You are a great mind.
Thanks for the memories,
I'll make sure not to look behind.
Thanks for the memories,
Nightmares of mine.
Thanks for the memories,
The demon and the church bell chime.
Thanks for the memories,
The one who steals my breath.
Thanks for the memories,
To you who brings death.
Thanks for the memories,
Smothering darkness coming for me.
Thanks for the memories,
Demon fog that ends when I scream.
Thanks for the memories,
Paralysis that keeps me still.
Thanks for the memories,
The hot nights that bring a chill.
Thanks for the memories,
The one who sees me as food.
Thanks for the memories,
Even if they weren't so good.

Warning, this poem is silghtly dark. It's about a recurring nightmare I had when I was a kid. It was a form of sleep paralysis and it has been burned into my memory since then. This also has a fun poke to a song. I'm sure you can figure it out.
