I didn’t want to let you go,
because I didn’t want to be hurt.
If only I knew
loving you was hurting me.
Flowers bloom inside my body;
lilac tulips, yellow daisies.
All growing
as the sun shined.
Things changed;
You covered the sun with clouds,
my tears flooding the flowers,
killing them and me.
Wondering how everything went wrong so fast,
I learn the difference between care
and control.
It’s time to let you go.

What inspired me to write this piece was the experience of being hurt by a close friend. i gave this friend my all, my whole heart, and he crushed it.
