Starving

Stomach empty, begging for food
Growling at me, it’s just so rude
Really I’m fine, please don’t worry
I can walk straight when my vision isn’t blurry

I haven’t had a meal for a while
It’s ok I am still able to smile
I walk, talk, and even play along
I feel normal like nothing is wrong

I have to go I’m getting tired
My arms are weak, and my brain is wired
My head is hot, I’m gonna fall
I don’t even think I can crawl

I’m in the hospital staring at the ceiling
The doctors said this is a process called healing
I’ll be home soon don't you worry darling
I was only a little starving
