It was an up and down relationship.
You knew it was coming and it has been for a while.
The click that clicked so many years ago was becoming undone
And all the little things you’ve ignored for years is adding up
You’re done dealing with it, yet you know you could keep going
But you’ve found better that has helped you realize this is the worst thing
Your heart still loves them even though its toxic
Your head tells you it’s not and gives excuses and memories for why it’s still valuable in your life
You want to keep it going but this was the last straw
You’ve watched over her and taken care of her,
And waited for her to grow up,
But she still hasn’t and as you realize she never will, it’s over
No more picking up the pieces and glueing them together
No more going to bed angry
No more
