My Guardian Angel

I look to the sky and see nothing but shimmering lights,
I can’t help but miss you on these warm summer nights.
You were taken too soon, a mother of soon to be two,
It’s the nights like these that I can’t help but think of you
My Aunt, My Guardian Angel, My TT.

The days at the canal with Austin and Rain,
Never imagining the feeling of immense pain.
The sounds of love and laughter fill the air,
You should’ve always been there
My Aunt, My Guardian Angel, My TT.

When I pass your house I can’t help but cry,
I often look to the sky and simply ask ‘Why’.
A beautiful smile, taken from this earth way too soon.
Of all people, why did it have to be you?
My Aunt, My Guardian Angel, My TT.

In less than a month it will be four years,
But still there’s no way to stop all the tears.
You left behind two beautiful faces,
Looking for something to fill their hearts’ empty spaces:
My Aunt, My Guardian Angel, My TT.

All we can do now is look back to the past,
And hate how our time went by dreadfully  fast.
I will look over your babies for the rest of their lives,
And face the pain of seeing you in their eyes.
My Aunt, My Guardian Angel, My TT.
