Cal Baby

If my heart was an ocean, your love would be the tide,
If my heart was the moon, it’d always be the full side.
For you my heart beats then skips a beat you know,
For you my laugh rings throughout where we go.
You surely must know how happy I truly am,
You are the craziest and luckiest I’ve ever been.
I love your cut off shirts, boots and camouflage hat,
I loved you before I knew what love was in fact.
You’re so many things that I’ve grown to love so,
You’re grown more into myself, more than you know.
My favorite thing about you - besides everything-
It isn’t your smile wide or in the car when you sing,
It isn’t the way you whisper that you do love me,
When we’re alone and close as we can possibly be,
Or even when you hold my hand or spin me around,
Or when you dance with me in the kitchen to no sound.
Oh wait, yes, those small things are what I love most,
You are every little thing in my heart that I hold close.
Three hundred sixty five days that I’ve spent in love,
Through times when we’ve walked away in spite of,
All that we’ve worked for, but I never want that again.
For I’m the happiest in life that I have ever been.
Because when you find someone who makes your soul sing,
You follow their song, and you are that and every other thing.
