Noises only I can hear
And images only I can see
Plague me
Sometimes they’re sweet,
The voices purr and sooth
The images please and calm
But more often than not, they’re cruel
The voices snap and hiss
The thoughts turn ugly and mean
Somehow, my mind manages to be my best friend
And my worst enemy
