I sit and wait
My mechanical ligaments
Frolic yet fearful
As the clock moves
Past the ever changing
Everlasting intervals
Of an infinite existence.

I sit and wait
My mechanical ligaments
Frolic yet fearful
Because sometimes at night
We lie awake
Comprehending how the moon
Doesn’t fall from the sky.

I sit and wait
My mechanical ligaments
Now at a stand-still
As I realize my life will never be anything but
A numerical equation
With all the wrong variables
Because I told myself
I couldn’t do it.
