The Field

Watching the green patch up just yonder
This field tends to make me ponder
Though where the soft winds soon will wander;
Perhaps I shall never know

In the fading, dimming light
Like a blossom opens night
The sun will gasp for breath as the moon will fight;
And darkness closes in

Rain soon comes in sickly rations
Flowers close in strangely fashions
But still the field fights with passion;
No human could ever touch

Up aging fences ivy crept
Then Time stood still, and stayed erect
Too slowly for the moon to detect;
The grinding bite it carries

But in this field I shall stay
And perhaps I'll never go away
For I like the feeling of the sun and moons' ray;
Caressing my night-soaked skin.
