The Sole Applause
I've tried to entertain
I've been booed off stage
No one ever tried to engage
No one ever gave an applause
I've been given praise
I've been given the A
But, the critics never applaud
And then she came
She rushed me back on stage
We could engage
We could relate
And she gave me the applause
So, I'd like to thank that friend
For pushing me back on stage
For truly being entertained
For giving me the sole applause

This piece was in honor of my best friend Isabella. Whenever, I show my work to friends they fake their enjoyment, causing me to feel like my writing is terrible. Most of my friends don't understand me. However, Isabella is one of my true fans (the other is my mom). We share quirks and she really reads my stories and gives real critism. She understands my writing, that's why I call her my sole applause. I hope this poem tells people like me that there is someone who will get it and to be okay with only a sole applause.
