The boy looked over and thought as he stared
Of a lifetime with her, if only he dared,
And the girl looked back as the boy looked away,
And dreamed with a sigh and the word, ‘someday’,
And close-eyed, their dreams were loud and would meet,
But eyes open their silence was all that would speak.
So the boy looked back as the girl looked away
And with bittersweet thoughts whispered, “maybe today”.
