I shed a tear for my country tonight
For the stars on the banner will no longer shine bright.
It’s hard to ignore this blight.
I shed a tear for my country tonight
Wrong has become right,
And birds no longer take flight.
I shed a tear for my country tonight
The darkness overthrew the light
You’ve destroyed my birthright.
I shed a tear for my country tonight
I can no longer see the daylight,
Because my home will become a bombsite.
