The Room

The room is as I left it
Few streaks of faint light pierce through the blinds
Exposing lint particles hovering in the air
Silence lingers-
Like clouds when a storm is approaching.
Muddy beat up sneakers lay discarded against the door
In a failed effort not to further stain the pale white rug,
As it begs for a cleaning.
A burned out light bulb that asks not to be disturbed leaves the room in utter- darkness.
