Silence

The darkness surrounds me.
The only light is the flash of lightning.
The only sound is the pour of rain and rumble of thunder.
People fear storms.
They should.
The storm is angry.
I understand the anger.
The blind rage I have felt before.
The need to hit something like lightning hitting a tree.
The need to be heard by anyone that will listen.
The only thing the storm and I don't have in common.
Is that I stay silent.
While the storm rages on.
