The patter of raindrops on rooftops
The neighborhood is quiet and still
The gutter waterfalls

Sliding down the windowpane
The gutter waterfalls
The mist rolls down the street
Sliding down the windowpane
Raindrops race to the edge
The mist rolls down the street
Puddles splash my old-new rainboots
Raindrops race to the edge
Pouring down in stream on my head
Puddles splash my old-new rainboots

The recent rain storms in California has inspired me to write this piece. The rain is something new and exciting, especialy since California has been suffering a drought. I wrote this poem to celebrate the rain.
