My Home Weeps
From the outside
My house is like any other
The faint smell of blueberry muffins always lingers
Like a grandmother's perfume
Mountains of mail misplaced on the coffee table
Not leaving much room for coffee
The sounds of las noticias or ESPN fade into the background
Like jazz at a cocktail party
Siblings fight and bicker
Becoming predators competing over a nonexsistant prey
From the outside
My house is like any other
But inside
My home weeps for me
It fears for my fears
It rages for my anger
It saddens for my sadness
My home has become
A psychiatric ward
From the outside
My house is like any other
But on the inside
My home weeps for me
