Lycanthropes

Modernized heart, but untamed spirit
trapped inside a muscular figure of mangled fur
protecting me from the bitter coldness
as I run through the snowy woodland
which the moon was full
with my comrades to our delicious looking prey
that is running away from us.

Adrenaline running through my arteries,
shallow breaths with each step,
my heart beating like a drum
With eyes of eagles and nose of a wolf
giving me the trail of the delicious prey
that is running away from us.

When the prey seemed to wear down
and is closer than ever,
I sprang with all of the strength I got
and try to bite
where the death blow is, the neck.

I aimed perfectly,
steak knife-like teeth tearing into the flesh and muscle,
the sound of bones cracking that sends your spine in shivers,
screams of pain and terror emitted from his throat like
a petrified person in a cursed house.

Sweet copper-smelled blood filled my mouth,
driving me into a craving for more and bite deeper
the prey struggle to free himself
but my bite held him down, killing him quickly
till life left in his eyes and his body go slack.

Letting go of my teeth
the prey fell on the ground with a sickening thud
I then lifted my head to the full moon
and howled as loud as I could,

Other joined me in my song of victory,
the satisfaction of the hunt till
we wolfed down the carcass of a thief and murderer
for which we fulfilled our destiny
as Lycanthropes.

I love the descriptors you used! (like that line: "with eyes of eagles and nose of a wolf) Nice work!

Thanks! This is basically just a poem for my favorite mythical creature. Thanks for the nice comment!

Also Bandon Fiecher's Night of the Werewolf inspired me to make this poem! Check him out on Youtube. He is really good composer!
