you are standing by the water
when i notice you,
waiting and waving
through the eyes of the world.
hair in the wind,
manly
yet a poetic stance
about you.
the sun’s rays
dance over your light brown skin –
extravagant.
you were
an island,
made to be discovered -

the tide of my soul

rising over you

again and again.
