Autumn With My Brothers MAG
My brothers and I rake
until our arms are numb and our noses red.
We sit on the porch step for a moment,
breathing in the crisp air,
taking a break from our strenuous work.
We bicker about who has done the most
but really we are glad to be here
with our sweaters and boots that crunch the leaves, trees ablaze with fiery colors
hot chocolate in mugs warming us from the inside out.
Our mother tells us to keep going, there are more leaves to be raked and we groan and get up from our break
But really, we are glad to be here.
