When Did The Rain
They stood still.
Grounded to the Earth.
How did they get there?
The rain;
When did the rain start to feel
Sharp?
No longer a cool relief,
Just a reminder,
Of what was to come.
Pure to a passerby,
Broken and hollow inside.
The stream ran red,
But it’s ok,
They said.
Veins spilling vile,
But they said.
Pure to a passerby,
Mangled inside.
Grounded to the Earth.
Still,
they stood.
When did the rain start to feel
Sharp.
Veins spilling vile.
Pure to a passerby.
The rain,
sharp.
