Guilt
Guilt is a basement.
in the middle of the forest.
Trapped under hundreds of pounds of vines.
First you feel scared, then you feel trapped,
Then you wonder is you’ll ever escape.
Escape the deep thought that you were the one to blame.
Escape the deep thought that you were the one to start that flame
You stare into the darkness trying to focus.
You start walking towards the light,
hoping, praying that you won’t get stuck in the webs,
The very webs that remind you of the very thing you tried to push away.
You try to carry yourself to the small little window,
Where maybe,
someone would finally see the shadow
you’ve been trying to escape.
