The Baritone Lullaby

He married her for her beady eyes,
And glassy tail
He married her for her rainbow body,
And curvy snout
He married her for her lovely grin,
And her glistening scales,
He married her for the trickling moonlight,
That made her shimmer and glimmer
He married her for the porcelain eggs,
That she left within the folds of his apron,
Flitting away amongst the silvery waters
She left him alone, just the way he liked it
He also married her for this inevitable solitude
As he stroked his porcelain eggs, with his tail
And burst into perfect song,
The ripples seemed to dance his way through,
As Daddy Sea horse,
Burst into ‘Baritone lullaby’
