Paint is peeling off the stagnant barn
Standing sturdy as the hot sun tries to melt it away
Far away cars roar, drivers honk, pedestrians yell
Miles of roads and mountains block the sound
This breath of fresh air heals aching hearts
and anxious minds
Mountains get bigger and fluttering stomachs return to their normal place
Anxious thoughts vanish to the back of the mind
The pigs only worry about their next meal
Napping in the dust under the midday sun
Color has crept on the long branches of trees
Some orange, yellow, brown
The birds test the wind and shake out their
feathers for first flight
Down below, the grass remains a thick
thriving green
As the sun rises, feet begin to move in unison
Higher and higher they creep up the formation covered in trees
Rocks are protected by brave firm moss
The thumping of feet and rhythm of breaths ring through the forest
The sun is still rising and minds are still asleep
Light seeping through the trees encourages them on
Rocks grow larger, trees grow smaller
The sun has reached its peak
A mountain top has been reached
They look out to the dips and curves that others have climbed
Covered in changing color
A breeze tingles bare arms, small hairs spike up
The consensus turns the feet to return the way they came
Leaving no trace of ever setting foot
