Memories on the Wind

October 1, 2016

Echoes on the wind whisper my name,
A memory lost to the Autumn leaves
In which the laughter of children reveals
Presence of red, orange, brown

Crisp crackling of parched oak tending flame,
A hoarse voice asking of nippy Autumn twilight,
Of stories between the Pegasus and Aquarius
Flickering near the pale glow of the moon

Recollection of New England Autumns passed
Die like a drifting signature of Fall
Passing through combatant of pre-winter kisses,
Disintegrate into the ash of passed Octobers.
