How did I end up hating
Someone who I share DNA with.
Every day is a struggle debating,
Whether or not to forgive him.

He has left me a wound
That has not yet healed,
It has been open for years,
And it continues to consume
The little girl I once knew.

I’ve had no man to protect me
From all the danger this world throws at me.
So how should I know what love is,
When the first man in my life,
Destroyed the meaning of what true love really means.
