floss between teeth
trapped cavity
clouded images
shattered and broken
light escapes
encrypted messages
i do not know
how to decipher or decode
maintained heaps of
laundry thrown all over
spills of blood and ink
all throughout these pathways
this damage
wrapped up tight, stitched with thread
lips with cracked skin
sewn shut
longing to speak
to break silence
but my tongue is full of
gravel and i can’t pull out these
words from my mouth.
i only have shreds of safety
within me.
