I fell in love with a boy from Mars.
He was strange and beautiful,
With eyes that shined like the stars.
We flew to the Moon
Where he showed me the world
I only wish I didn’t have to leave so soon
But the Earth pulled me back down,
Drowning me in reality
And turning my smile into a frown
The Earth scolded me and put me behind bars
“You cannot be with him,” he said,
“For you are a girl from Earth and he is a boy from Mars.”
Regardless, I broke free from the chains in the ground
And made my way back to him
For true love knows no bounds.
