She's Her Own Poison

She shrugs her shoulders,

Doesn't care.

She hangs her head-

To hide her secrets.

The eyes behind-

The zipped up hood.

The smile beneath-

The guarded grimace.

The heart that holds-

The pain within.

The hands that hold-

The shaking pen.

She's invincible to all,

All except herself.

She's petrified because-

She's her own poison.
