I remember that day clearly;


The taste of blood in my mouth, like pennies.


The feeling of the cold asphalt beneath my bruised cheeks.


I remember that day so clearly;


Because it was the day you told me


"You're nothing to me."


It was the day you punched me,


Sent me reeling,


Plunging me 50 feet under,


Gasping for air,


Calling your name.


But you walked away saying,


"You're nothing to me..."
