mothers love
Her voice was smooth and calm like a river in a forests day,
as she whispered in my ear I love you almost as if
she didnt't want me to hear.
She held onto me for dear life but when I opened my eyes,
all I saw was your voice that you must've left behind.
I don't understand why you didn't take it with you.
Teasing me with the way you whispered I love you too.
I held onto it, trying to remember the way her voice cracked
when she said the word love as of she forced her tongue
to spell it out one by one.
Now I couldn't even recongnize your voice if you were talking right in front of me.
