Walk this Road Alone

By , Eaton, CO

Walk this Road Alone

Living flesh turned stone-cold dead,
and so my heart was filled with dread,
for on this path we tread everything was broken, as it was said
We seem to walk this road alone,
this dark and dreary street,
and so if it’s just Him and I walking, I’ll just cry alone at His feet
For if I was called to this, which I also dread, I will take it solemnly as I turn up my head
For some He gives a friend or two, and so these some our blessed,
but as for others they walk alone with the One who gives us rest
And so, though the pain may be great,
I’ll fix my eyes on God, my King, and His unfailing grace
I’ll try to walk in it each morning,
and every night when I lay for sleep,
and also in the daytime I’ll remember this love that is so deep
