overdressed with sullen mouths
parking lot boys
gleaming in the sun
i passed spit shined shoes
brought drinks
hung over the table
their heads butted
no one else played or asked to play
three years before
the dead man served them meals
in the room with green walls
a crystal chandelier
the table covered in white linen.
