I spit on the ground
I live on
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
I repeat
Telling myself saving her

I recycle my footprints by throwing my waste
Down
Into a blue bin, a blue bin I think is sanctuary
A blue bin to hide my apathy
Hide my shame
Disgusted
Lazy to keep my world from dying

I clutter my mass production
In the waters she bleeds for me
I clutter the lush fields
Meant for love
Meant to cherish
Now disguised by mountains of waste

I kick
And scratch
At Her
I suffocate
From my CFC’s,
My nitrous oxide,
My Ford F150 sputter black smoke
Clouding the view of who she was
What she is

The future brings a pipe to carry my
Greed
A pipe to carry my prized black sludge
Across the “free” world
Only to burst and seep into
Her body
Blemishing her precious land
Only to save myself the money I
Crave

I have a passion in life to become an environmental scientist as well as working toward environmental beautification. This piece was sparked by the idea that the world can be restored to it's natural state, if given the right direction.
