" All who wander are not lost." J.R.R. Tolkien

My kingdom is windchimes on a mountain

dancing starlight and travelling rivers

Silver and sun touched

gathered under the fading branches of a hemlock tree

Dangling suns and moons

bronze and silver

A galaxy of summer shells and diamonds

weaving around the tree like a curtain of wind

Choirs of stone angels

guarding the memories of history

the trinkets of wanderers

the relics of dreamers

Who was here before me?

Who has left me the mysteries of their past lives?

Thank you

Thank you for letting me discover the temples of the dreamers

Thank you for pushing me to imagine what magic people will leave behind

Thank you for letting me walk the footprints of strangers.

I wrote this poem about a shrine on top of a mountain that captured my attention. Something about it made me think about the people of the past and the magic mysteries that people will leave for others.
