They're doing it again to you

You know it's not the first

You've fought them off so valiently

But now it's so much worse.

They slither up inside of you

And read your darkest thoughts

Your weaknesses reveal themselves

The answers that they sought.

They use these to get to you and

You know from the first

Exactly what your weakness is

Exactly how you're cursed.

They're touching you and tempting you

You try to fight it off

But so long as you're wanting it

You're never strong enough.

The year goes on so normally

For everyone you know

But deep inside your body, well

You reap just what you sow.

You hate this girl for all she's done

Wish she was never here

But just another part of you

She'll never die, you fear.

She's not the one that you should blame

Addictions are the worst

Taking care in starving her

Makes her the one they nurse.

You stare outside the window and

Pray to the one true God

But seeing as that doesn't help

All you can do is sob.

So you're trapped back inside your room

Just you, yourself, and them.

The memories of fighting back

Prevent committing sin.

But fighting back just doesn't work

Since they clearly return.

The tears dripping from off your face

You wish this house was burned.

You feel so helpless in your own

There's nothing you can do.

You silently get off your bed

And slowly out your room.

If someone else were home by chance

Then maybe you'd survive

But being here alone you think

"I'll never feel alive."

You grab a knife that's resting there

Right by the kitchen sink

The demons rest their eyes on you

You'll fight them back, you think.

You take the knife and firmly grasp

The handle, aiming close.

You will not lose the fight again

The circumstance, morose.

The knife you plunge deep within

Your knees fall to the floor

You've made a grave mistake, you gasp

Your strength is gone, no more.

They take this chance with pleasure and

They flood into your mind

You cannot find them anymore

Why would you? They're so kind.

Why exactly had you fought them? Well

You weren't entirely sure.

You may have regret them then but

Now you regret you can't have more.
