"You grew flowers in my lungs and even though they're beautiful, I cannot breathe."

The smell of damp earth assaulted my nose,

While in my sight, all I saw was a grave with a single red rose.

Tears of crystal were shed

When my great-grandmother was laid in her resting bed.

My uncle screamed for her to come back,

But her warmth is something he will have to lack.

My numb heart made me feel like I was dying.

Water droplets rained down on us,

And I was glad that nobody could see I was crying.

The author's comments:

This is all that I remember of my great-grandmother's death, so my poem seemed to turn out short. All of this really happened, and I can still remember the cool rain dripping down my face.

It still stays in my mind today about how all of my uncle's weaknesses were laid bare for everyone to see.

He's okay now since it has been many years, and I'm glad about that.
