Life for me hasn’t been a Spongebob Experience.
I haven’t been singing in the fields, or running ‘round with starfish and squirrels.
I haven’t been singing while I been frying those burgers.
I haven’t been living my days in a fruit.

You might say that I got fancy things
And golden rings, but do I really care ‘bout them? No.
Do I really want ‘em? No.
Squidward ain’t living his life behind a stove, but is he happy? No.
He’s been living his life in a two story house with fancy pillows and pots,
But is he happy? No.

He keeps choking on his happiness in life,
Falling down his stairs, Screaming in pain and frustration.
He seems like he has everything, but does he really? No. He ain’t happy.
I wish I didn’t turn out to be like him.

The author's comments:

When other people look into our lives, they usually see what we want to show them. However, what we show them isn't always what we actually feel. Everyone's life has problems, but we always show off our Spongebob selves, while inside we know rot in our Squidward selves. None of us want our lives to be a Squidward experience, but it's somethng we all go through. The least we could do about it is to let everyone else know that each one of us is going through the same thing.

This poem is so meee! Your comparison hilariously displays a serious solemn truth.
