As a kid,

I felt incomparable to your sheer size

You embellished the sky,

belittling the world below you,

as if you had no faith in us.

You just seem so vast,

so innumerable

that I could not compete.

I could not live up to the legacy

that you held.

Your lights were unseen to me

within the city

so I was free from your grasp.

The few times I have left the city

and saw you,

I just felt so...

Worthless

I've read that sometimes,

you're the only

anchor

in our ever changing life;

rocks erode,

metal rusts,

and technology becomes outdated.

But people?

They do the worst and best of it all.

They change.
