Time To Go Inside MAG
I am tangerine peels,
falling from the tree house.
Sprinkling the lifeless grass
of the San Fernando Valley.
Eating the tangerine,
slice by slice,
my fingernails stained.
My dog ignored
the falling peels
landing next to her paws
next to her tail.
The occasional peel
would land on her ear.
Flicking it off,
she paid no mind.
Wise and caring,
she knew it would be soon,
until the last tangerine was peeled.
The last peel would fall,
and it was time
to go inside.
