A beautiful princess
A hardy warrior
Two hearts bound by destiny
He dreamed a place where there was no harm
With her wrapped within his arms
Though their hearts fit like a glove
King said ‘twas forbidden love
Locked her away in a desolate castle
To get to her would be a hassle
A dragon guards the very gate
He must get past to seal his fate
His pride is great from all his wins
He raises a sword and battle begins.
He fears not this hideous beast
Although his mind is not at peace
Beaten down with grotesque wounds
He fears his life will end soon.
The dragon with its eyes glowing red
And horns placed upon its head
Makes the warrior fill with dread.
The dragon expels it fiery breath
Now this hero fears his death.
Then it seemed mysterious
He believed he was delirious
The dragon set itself aflame
This warrior could retain
His dignity for a moment more
As again and again he swings his sword.
A swoosh of the blade
And the dragon’s slayed
The mighty beast lived its final day
He could not think of himself
He worried about her health
Locked away for oh so long
Her heart begins to sing a song
Knowing her pain will soon end
Now they know it’s time to mend
The bonds that they had within
Bound together forever more
They know their love can finally soar.
