You are my first love poem,
And I'm a great defeat,
For I've never loved more than a day
But for weeks you've caused my heart to beat.
You're my first wish upon a star,
And I am so ashamed,
For I swore I'd never fall in love
But it's you, I can't be blamed.
You're the first time I hate feeling,
And we fit just like a glove,
Cause you don't know how to handle me
And I don't know how to fall in love.
And I don't know how to continue
With this internal fight
Cause I just want to be rid of you,
But you're my last thought every night.
And I thought If I kept waiting
You would slowly drift away,
And I want this torturous heart burn gone,
But I also want you to stay.
I see you and I smile,
And this pain begins anew,
And the saddest part about this:
I saw you smile, too.
But I know that I can't start this,
And my heart beating must be done,
Because if you were to love me back
I know myself, I'd run.
