I felt a parade, in my brain,

And Paraders to and fro

Kept running – running – till it seemed

All their Sense was breaking away –

And never they tired,

Like a Speaker, The Band –

Pumping – kept pumping – till I felt

My heart was going to bust –

And then they saw me lift the Beads

And shrieked at my face

With my Arms of Candy,

My Space – began to shake,

As all of Earth became a sea of people,

And Being, but a speck

And I, and Noise, some strange Race,

Happy, Crowded, here –

And then a Plank in my Reason, broke,

And I jumped up, and down –

And hit a new World, at every leap,

And Finished knowing – then –

That this I'm on float

Surrounded by an endless crowd of people

And drunk dancers

Is where my heart would stay forever
