“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” ― Mahatma Gandhi

The world weighs down on my shoulders.
Never before have I felt so tired.
I feel like Sisyphus pushing up a boulder.
And then I watch it tumble down.

I wake up with my eyes closed.
Sleep lingers but I do not grasp its hold.
I blankly get through the morning.
And I rarely feel the winter’s cold.

The days wander by without a notice.
I sit at my desk and never fulfill my chores.
By sunset, I feel absolutely hopeless.
And my heart wants to rest forevermore.

A pile of papers slip into my to-do pile.
I could barely do the minimum.
The walls engage me in a staring contest.
But I never have any adrenaline.
