The Mountains MAG
I’m standing on the rocks
up in the mountains
I pull the sleeves of my jacket over my hands,
it’s cold up here
I can feel the wind blowing around my hair
I can hear it whistle in my ears.
I can feel the warmth of the sun on my face
Although it’s a bracing cold, the red of my cheeks
proves as a reminder that sun still shines.
The sky is such a bright blue
there’s only a few clouds scattered in the sky
it’s such a nice day today
it’s such a beautiful day today
and I’m looking at such an amazing view
Looking behind me I can see where we started
Looking up I see higher peaks covered in snow
Looking down I can see my feet,
my thick gray socks
peeking out of my brown hiking boots
underneath I picture my bare feet,
I know they’re red and blistered
it’s felt like walking with glass in my shoes
but I look ahead
It’s so incredibly beautiful
one of the prettiest views I’ve ever seen
I see the tree line
the green pops out against the tan rocks
I see the mountains
I see the journey down we’re about to take
