"We cry, not because we are weak, but because we have been strong for too long."

All I know is how

black snow hails from the sky when you're not around

and I guess that's how you wanted it to be

because now you're gone

and I'm walking through the ash all alone

wishing for a way out.

My singed arms sing stories of better times

but now theres no one around to listen to my screams,

my pleas,

please help,

because I can't stand the thought

of me without you

My head is like a waterfall

and I'm overflowing with emotions

that I can't erase

because even though

you've never been anything but toxic,

I can't seem to forget your

icy eyes and the kiss that left fire on my lips.

But now I know that ice melts away

on a hot day and that fire is an unpredictable storm.

So I guess I'll keep pretending I'm okay

when on the inside I'm burning away and

I can't even look at you for fear of being

engulfed by flames.

So instead I walk through clouds of smoke

and smile to stop

my eyes from watering and

my lungs from caving in.

Great poem! I like how you used the fire and ice. I like the irony about how you can't think if the person isn't with you and then you walk away with them into the fire. I like how you spaced all of your phrases because it really helps with the overall quality of the poem. I wonder, why does your head like a waterfall? Good job! I'd like to see more! :) Please leave feedback on The Sailor Dream. Thank you!

I'm not usually one for love poems, but this one is pretty good! It's really good that you keep thee common theme/metaphor throughout the poem, most people can't do that or forget too, but you do! Fire and Ice, very chilling. Good job on this. Im curious who your favorite poets are
