Last night I slept?on the sands of the beach?-where we first met-?But I slept alone.
The ocean crawled up?to my stretched out toes?and placed a kiss?on each one of them.
Like a knowing adulteress,?I let them remain as I lay?and felt the caress of the warm?water against my skin.
Last night I heard happy?but distant voices now fading..?Memories I couldn’t recall?but memories -?which somehow still felt like mine.
A silent tear rolled down?across my smiling face?disturbing the dream ?and some of yours.
When you woke up, you?put your arms around me,?and I realised the cold floor?beneath us -?just stone, no sands.
But somehow everything?was set into place,?when you opened your eyes?and smiled.
