"One must still have chaos with in himself to give birth to a dancing star."- Friedrich Nietzsche

Blue peels off the sky like paint and falls into the ocean
While a boy still dreams of a foolish notion
A dog walks on the boardwalk
on steady fours
Among the many people taking sturdy tours
The wind whistles and screams
across the high seas
And to all who heard, it was like
they were in a dream.

Do you associate this poem with Erik Satie's third Gymnopedie ? I found listening to the piece while reading your poem enhanced the dreamy mood created by your thought-provoking descriptions of what might have just been typical encounters at a beach. The tone of your poem, in fact, has elements of Satie's music in that it makes whimsical associations - "blue peels off the sky," "steady fours," "sturdy tours" - and captures the essence of free thought, with echoes of deep reflection.
