Words are tools; to educate, support, mend, and express. They shouldn't be used to break down each other's minds... they should be used to fill the empty spaces in our heads with insight, in order to see what most eyes can't.

How could you

Be everything to me, yet view me as nothing

Another satellite circling round the sun

Lost in space, just icy junk

Drawn away from Earth's orbit by my attraction

To you, the sun, with your light and fission

I envision us close as two rocks sparking with friction

To light a fire that rivals the heat you expel

But if I get too close, I'm repelled, I'm in hell

I feel the flame but no warmth, your wrath without touch

It's uninentional, but still hurts just as much

Seeing Mercury basking in your heat

You give her the rings of Saturn just to see her smile

Every glance scorches my frosty soul

As I spin, lost in endless space

Knowing you never think of my face

My instability reminds me, grounds me a touch

Why she's the one whom you love and lust

I can trust it's the fact that people want pleasure

Not the pain I provide or the pity I derive

But the purpose and poise of a pretty penny

A kind girl with cadence and rhythm enticing

That's why she's your precious princess of pearls

While I am only a queen of quills and quiet qualms

Never calm, only insane, vain, and envying

But I now pronounce I have a new title;

The Queen Who Finally Quits

I am not fit for your throbbing heart's throne

I am alone, with poison melting my bones

Spilling sickness from each sentence

You shoot a picture of her flawless face

Immortalize her joy, her kindness, her grace

While I prove my mortality, with shots of whiskey and metal

She is your rose, I'm a stem with no petals

So as my vision fades and coarse goes my voice,

I cry as I admit: Your heart made the right choice.

You can't control who you fall for... or who doesn't fall for you.
